Perfume Package!

Yesterday was a very good mail day.  I have been waiting for a few perfumes to arrive and most of them did!  YAY!  I was only expecting one to arrive yesterday and others to arrive today, but luckily they all came together.  They were all in different boxes, but that is fine.

I won't be doing reviews just yet.  I will slowly start getting those out.  This is more of a heads-up of what to expect to start showing on the Vanity Table!  :-)

The first perfume is a 1.7 oz of Van Cleef & Arpels Oriens.  I'm madly in love with the bottle.  That lid is just stunning!  I have a fun little back story on it when I get to the review.

The second perfume is a 1 oz of Lolita Lempicka Coral Flower.  I've come to adore Lolita Lempicka and can pretty much blind buy any of them and fall in love.  I've yet to come across a bad Lolita Lempicka. Sad note: the "L" is missing some of its beads.  They fell out and into the box.  I can glue them back in, just haven't yet.

This next one is another Lolita Lempicka.  This is L de Lolita Lempicka and is in a 2.7 oz bottle. This is actually a tester. I was able to score a big bottle for a steal! If you aren't picky about not having the fancy aesthetics included, tester bottles are a fabulous way to go.  I have a mini of this perfume, but love it so much that I had to get a big bottle.  Now I've got a mama and baby bottle of L. 

The final perfume I got is Vera Wang Princess.  This is a 3.4 oz tester bottle.  As I mentioned with L, some of the knick-knacks aren't included with testers.  This tester bottle doesn't have the signature crown at the spritzer.  That doesn't bother me in the very least, though, because I got a giant bottle for next to nothing. Also keep in mind, there is nothing wrong with the tester bottles.  They're brand new, never used bottles of fragrance.  They just don't always come with the fancy-shmancy stuff. 

Now I just need the remainder to arrive!  EEKS!

Sneak Peek!

ScentSationals Fragrance Cubes (haul)

I have said this before but,  I adore scented wax cubes for tart warmers.  I went crazy in the fall and winter stocking up on cozy, food-like, and pine scents.  Now that spring has arrived and I'm craving fresh, floral, and fruity scents, I realized I only had a couple!  YIKES!  This weekend I solved that problem.  We were out running errands and I bought three spring-like fragrance cubes.  I want some more, just because I like to have a large selection to choose from, but this gets me started.

When I pick these out, I have to keep in mind what my husband enjoys because he, too, will have to be in the house smelling them.  So, we go back and forth picking up bars and making the other sniff it. I'm easier going than him...  I think most of them smell amazing.  We narrowed down the selection to these three: Lemon Meringue (his pick), Sheer Orchid (his pick), and Apple Blossom (my pick).  See what I mean? HA!  I was more agreeable on the selection and was A-okay with the ones he picked up.

Lemon meringue is extremely fresh and, obviously, full of citrus. It is sour and sweet at the same time.  It kind of reminds me of the taste of a lemon head candy.  Yes, somehow the smell reminds me of the taste of a lemon head.  This one would work well pretty much all throughout the house, whether in a living room or even a bathroom.

Sheer Orchid is also a fresh scent.  It has a clean quality to it, like soap.  It reminds me of being freshly stepped out of the shower. Obviously, it is a floral scent, but not artificial.  This one manages to be soft yet crisp in smell.  This is, again, one that I think would be perfect for any room in the house.

The last one we selected is Apple Blossom.  It is bright, cheery, and like a perfect bouquet of flowers.  It reminds me of something I feel like I've smelled at B&BW, but I can't figure out what, exactly.    This is like having your windows open, and the breeze carries in the odor of blooming trees and flowers.... or walking through a newly blooming flower garden.  The air is perfumed with sweet flowers, but it isn't irritating to the senses.  This one is a romantic smell, in my opinion.


All around, these three make perfect additions to my growing collection.  I'm going to be switching out the warmers to hold some of these very soon.  If you have smelled any of these, let me know what you think.  OR, if you have particular fragrance bars you like to burn in the spring, please tell me which ones!

Shopping Cheaper-Shopping Smarter

These sweaters were something of an unplanned purchase.  We were out buying stuff for our son because he needed his wardrobe updated for the cooler weather.  We hadn't been to Marshalls or TJMaxx in a long time, so decided to make that our pit stop. I had assumed that I would be able to find some nice shirts for my son, but at a marked down price.  Well, I did find some very nice sweaters and long sleeved shirts (and we did buy them), but they were pretty much the same price as where we'd normally buy them. Don't get me wrong, they probably were marked down in comparison to the original store they were sold at, but for a child that is growing out of his clothes every season, I'm not buying him department store tshirts at $30 a pop. There is absolutely no point in my eyes. If you choose to do that for your own child, more power to you. Lesson learned, though. I found that just some of the adult shirts and jeans actually save me money. 

The first sweater I picked up is a loose, open knit J.J. Basics.  The coloring seems rather off in the photo.  In person it is coral and turquoise, which seems strange for a knit sweater, but is a fun "pop" for the chilly months.  It keeps it bright and from becoming drab. In the picture it looks kind of murky, but it isn't in reality. The back is slightly longer than in the front.  Not a lot, just a touch.  I like that this sweater is a bit slouchy and doesn't hug the body too much.

This next sweater is another open knit.  It is in a deep grey and is made by the brand Wearing Your ❤ On Your Sleeve.  I can't really find anything about this brand when I try to search for them.  If anyone knows anything about the brand, let me know.  They're a mystery to me!  This is another that is cozy, even though it is open.  It is snug where it needs to be, but doesn't cling all along the torso.  Just how I like my sweaters!

This last sweater is one from American Eagle Outfitters. When I saw it on the rack I thought it looked loud and a bit obnoxious but something about wanting to add color to my wardrobe for the colder months made me pick it up anyway.  I'm glad I did.  When I tried it on, it was oddly interesting...in a good way!  It was cute and fun!  It has a 3/4 length sleeve and is, obviously, much thicker than the first two sweaters.  It cuts shorter as well, but nothing that you'd have to worry about your stomach suddenly showing or anything.  Not quite that short. Though, for my own personal comfort, I probably will still have a longer white tank under it, as I do for all of my shirts that cut at that length.  Once I hit mommy-mode, I don't ever chance the "lean over and accidentally flash the tops of your delicates" incident. 

I also bought a new pair of jeans, but for some reason in the transfer of the photos, the image only half transferred so I just deleted it.  They weren't anything special.  Just trust me when I say they were a skinny cut, dark wash blue jean. :-)
